Seasoned development practitioner and migration expert Idah Machiridza Chiwa, who has also carved a niche in the life coaching space is set to launch her debut book titled Passing Storms end of this month in Harare.
Speaking to Standard Style, Machiridza Chiwa said she was excited about this new high as she continues to serve humanity through her various people-centred philanthropic activities.
“There is no more nobler profession than service to humanity and I am happy that beyond my 8am to 5pm job, I have continued to serve humanity through my various extra-curricular activities, which include life coaching,” she said.
“My debut book titled Passing Storms is, thus, a new high as it allows me to share my personal experiences in a manner that helps uplift humanity while sharing hope with all and sundry.
“The goal is to serve my generation in my own small way and I believe the book will be yet another important footprint in my calling.”
Machiridza Chiwa said she was expectant of even greater impact with her new publication.
“I have served in many spheres before; mentoring and counselling young people as well as inspiring my generation in one way or the other but I am happy that the book will take my service beyond my immediate circles,” she said.
“The hope is to ensure that the book reaches every storm walker across the globe so that through it they experience the beauty of hope and conquering as shared from my lived personal experience. All hope is not lost and through it all, God remains God.”

About the inspiration behind the book, Machiridza Chiwa said it’s a true story of heartbreak, healing and hope.
“Passing Storms is a true story of heartbreak, healing, and hope and it’s a must have for anyone who has faced a fractured home, childhood storms, professional trauma, abuse, grief, betrayal, or the silence of pain. It’s generally an uplifting speaking to a world of possibilities through grace,” she said.
“The message is that we must grow through what you go through and this book speaks to the storm in all of us.
“From brokenness to bravery, from survival to becoming and no matter your race, past or place; healing is possible and you can rise again.”
Machiridza Chiwa said the publication was more than just a book, but a tailored light and voice for all in need of hope and inspiration.
“This publication is more than a book. It’s a lifeline, a light and a voice that will continuously nudge you towards the endless possibilities that lie ahead of you in spite of your current circumstances,” she said.
According to Machiridza-Chiwa, the planned book launch event is going to be interactive with powerful speakers and game changers where she will also have an opportunity to broadly unpack her personal brand and future plans in service to humanity.
“We want this launch event to be an interactive and value adding event where guests will also hear more about my next steps in service to humanity beyond what they already know,” she said.
“We have powerful speakers including diplomats, community leaders, top creatives and people development experts and we are inviting all progressive Zimbabweans to be part of this event.”
