Kadoma is abuzz with excitement as the annual Kadoma Music Festival gears up to host Jamaican reggae and dancehall stars Chris Martin and Busy Signal. The highly anticipated event, set for October 11 at The Odyssey, is attracting attention well beyond the city limits thanks to a nationwide advertising blitz.
Organisers are not only aiming to make the festival a massive success but also to market Kadoma as a vibrant, multicultural hub.
While both Chris Martin and Busy Signal have performed in Zimbabwe before, this will be their first time on stage in the gold mining town. This continues the festival's tradition of bringing top-tier international acts to the city. Past festivals have featured major names like Tanzania's Diamond Platnumz, South Africa's Makhadzi, and legendary groups such as Mafikizolo and DJ Tira.
In a playful video clip confirming his attendance, Chris Martin showed his love for Zimbabwe by adopting the name "Tinashe Tatenda." He told fans, "I, Tinashe Tatenda, will be performing live in Kadoma at The Odyssey. Don't miss out 'cause it's going to be a big thing." (sic)
Busy Signal also encouraged fans to come early to ensure they don't miss a moment of the show. With two global superstars headlining, their performances are expected to draw a huge crowd and further cement the Kadoma Music Festival's status as a must-attend event on Zimbabwe's music calendar.
