In a country where crime and security threats are evolving with every passing day, one local company says it is determined to be ahead of the curve.
Never Sleep Security (Pvt) Ltd, a relatively young player in Zimbabwe’s security industry, is fast earning a reputation for combining traditional guard services with cutting-edge technology.
Established in 2020, the firm was born out of what its founders saw as a pressing need for confidential and specialised services for private individuals, corporates, and public institutions.
The company’s approach is to place highly vetted and well-trained personnel at the centre of its operations, while deploying the latest technological tools in surveillance, investigations, and access control.
Never Sleep Security’s portfolio ranges from home and corporate guarding to VIP protection, forensic investigations, convoy protection, alarm systems and CCTV installations.
The company is also positioning itself as a leader in undercover investigations and fraud detection, targeting both the corporate and public sectors.
Chief executive officer Kudakwashe Taruberekera said the company was committed to going beyond the traditional image of a guard standing at a gate.
“We take a proactive approach to security, ensuring that our guards are thoroughly vetted, highly trained, and supported by the latest technology in crime prevention,” Taruberekera said in an interview.

“Our mission is not just to react to threats, but to prevent them. We want our clients to feel secure, knowing that we are prepared for every scenario.”
The company is affiliated with Craft Properties Holdings (Pvt) Ltd, a diversified group with subsidiaries and operations in Zimbabwe, the United States, Zambia and Botswana.
This backing, Taruberekera noted, gives Never Sleep Security the ability to tap into regional and international expertise in security solutions.
Training is another area where the company claims to stand out. Its personnel are equipped with skills ranging from paramedic response and counter-surveillance to tactical driving, unarmed combat and defensive techniques against chemical or biological threats.
Guards are expected to maintain high standards of grooming and discipline, which the company says enhances professionalism and inspires confidence in clients.
Beyond private clients, the company also hopes to play a role in raising awareness about crime prevention among communities.
“Security is no longer about manpower alone. It’s about intelligence, innovation, and community involvement. We are here to set a new standard in the industry,” Taruberekera added.
As crime continues to challenge both businesses and individuals across Zimbabwe, Never Sleep Security is betting on a blend of human expertise, technology and community engagement to carve its niche. For a company that only started operations five years ago, its ambitions are bold — but in the fast-changing security landscape, boldness may be what is required.
