Sekuru Nyangatayani invites people to Bira

The renowned sangoma, who recently represented Zimbabwe at the Chinese Expo in Hong Kong, said he is ready to host the spiritual gathering.

Glendale-based traditional healer Sekuru Nyangatayani has extended an open invitation to all sangomas and Africans to attend a thanksgiving ceremony (Bira) at his shrine in Glendale tomorrow.

The renowned sangoma, who recently represented Zimbabwe at the Chinese Expo in Hong Kong, said he is ready to host the spiritual gathering.

Speaking to this publication, Sekuru Nyangatayani said the Bira is an annual event that he is hosting in Mashonaland Central for the first time.

“I am back from China, and tomorrow we are having an all-night thanksgiving ceremony (Bira) for the first time in Glendale. This is going to be an annual event,” he said.

He encouraged sangomas and Africans from different backgrounds to attend and connect spiritually.

“All sangomas are invited, and Africans should come to the Bira to meet with the ancestral gifts. Together, we will map the way forward in the spiritual world,” he added.

Sekuru Nyangatayani also revealed that traditional dishes and brews will be served during the ceremony.

“This is a ceremony not to be missed. We will serve a variety of traditional dishes and brews,” he said.

Several prominent traditional healers have already confirmed their presence at the event.
