Zimbabwean music producer and recording artist Bryan K has unveiled a heartfelt new rendition of the timeless gospel song Vane Hanya (Jesu Wedu), featuring students from Hillview Christian College.

Steeped in nostalgia, the song has long been cherished by many who grew up singing it, carrying a message of faith, hope, and reassurance.

In this reimagined version, Bryan K blends his soulful lead vocals with the rich, uplifting harmonies of the students, breathing new life into a classic.

The accompanying music video, shot at the Hillview Christian College campus in Domboshava, captures vibrant scenes of student life, unity, and joy. Additional footage filmed on a nearby mountain adds a powerful visual layer, symbolising elevation, reflection, and the song’s uplifting spiritual message.

Speaking about the project, Bryan K said the song holds deep personal significance:

“This is a song many of us grew up singing, so it carries a lot of meaning. Bringing it into this space, with young voices, felt like giving it new life — like passing something timeless from one generation to the next.”

He also emphasised the importance of nurturing creativity among young people, noting that artistic expression plays a vital role in building confidence and shaping identity.

“I’ve always believed that students should be encouraged to express themselves creatively. We’re living in a time where all skill sets matter, but creativity is becoming one of the most important. It builds confidence, it shapes identity, and it allows young people to find their voice,” he said.

Bryan K added that the collaboration marks the beginning of a broader vision to work with students on future projects that empower and inspire them.

The release stands as a powerful fusion of music, storytelling, and youth participation, creating a moving piece that resonates well beyond the classroom.

The song and its video are now available on various digital platforms.
