BULAWAYO Chiefs' financial woes have resurfaced once again after coach Lizwe Sweswe watched from the terraces as his side lost to Green Fuel at Luveve Stadium reportedly because of outstanding salaries.
Sources said Sweswe has not recieved his dues for three months and is not happy with interference in his job.
In Sweswe's absence goalkeepers' coach Nkosiyazi Ncube temporarily took over the head coach's duties in the dugout.
Chiefs' spokesperson Thulani 'Javas' Sibanda played down Sweswe's absence.
"The coach is not available due to personal reasons, which we cannot divulge," Sibanda said.
As the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League resumed, Nqobile Ndlovu and Bukhosi 'Zakhu' Sibanda scored in the first half as visiting Green Fuel cruised past The Ninjas to pick up their third set of maximum points in 13 games, but are still teetering in the red zone of the log-standings.

Ndlovu opened the account in the 27th minute with a header inside the penalty box with the visitors capitalising on a counter-attack just under a minute after Chiefs had missed an opportunity from a free-kick.
Four minutes before the break, Sibanda had the easy task of beating Dube after some exchanges inside the penalty box by Green Fuel.
The visitors held on to those two first half goals and Chiefs, after a good run that had seen them competing with teams at the top of the log-standings, lost to Highlanders before the league break three weeks ago and lost yesterday to Green Fuel.
Coach Rodwell Dlakama said they came into the game as underdogs.
"Obviously we came here as underdogs, given the past performance of the opponents, but we had this belief that we would do better," Dlakama said.
Chiefs' goalkeepers' coach Ncube said they gave away soft goals.
"It was a game we should have managed in the first half. We gave away soft goals. We stabilised in the second half and got a little better. It was one of those games as we come from the break. We go back to the drawing to rectify. We lacked creativity and we were disjointed," Ncube said.
