
Kudzai “Greatkhalister” Pasipanodya Makusha, a multi-award-winning corporate leader, is participating in his fourth Comrades Ultra-marathon on Sunday in Durban, South Africa.
The prestigious event, known for its challenging course, starts at the Pietermaritzburg City Hall and finishes outside Durban's People's Park.
Greatkhalister, widely recognised in fitness circles, has previously participated in marathon events in far-flung locations such as Dubai and has also competed in neighbouring Zambia.
His experiences in the international races have further fuelled his passion for running and fitness, which he promotes through his lifestyle brand, Musabvunda.
“Through Musabvunda, we emphasises the values of excellence, productivity, and maximum capacity utilisation, encouraging individuals to strive for their best,” Pasipanodya said.
“The hope is that we get inspired from the 2025 experience and bring that excitement back home through our own Musabvunda curated events.”
He said he was excited about the 2025 expedition.
“Running in the Comrades Marathon holds special significance for me as I represent my rural community in Bikita, Masvingo, and inspire the entire nation of Zimbabwe,” Pasipanodya said.

“I promise to make them proud,” he stated, emphasising his commitment to his roots.
Pasipanodya said he hoped to take the 2025 Comrades Marathon as a spur to continue promoting healthy living and fitness in Zimbabwe.
“At a time when many are battling chronic illnesses and healthcare is a major concern in the region, I hope that Musabvunda will continue to be a beacon of hope in the fight for fitness and healthy living,” he said.
His participation is not just about completing the race; it carries a deeper message.
“Taking part in this massive run is to demonstrate my desire to achieve and promote excellence and productivity, much like we encourage at Musabvunda brand and business network,” he explained.
With entries capped at 23 000, the 2025 Comrades Marathon is expected to feature around 22 000 starters, making safety and organization crucial for the event's success.
