Jah Lemmy to launch fourth album

Afro-traditional music sensation Jah Lemmy is set to light up Harare this Friday, October 31, when he launches his much-anticipated fourth album titled “Zunza Mukwende” at The Yard (formerly Bar Rouge), Longcheng Plaza in Belvedere.

The event, which kicks off at 8pm and runs till late, promises to be a night of cultural pride, musical excellence, and celebration of Zimbabwe’s rich heritage.

Jah Lemmy, who has carved a distinct niche in the local music scene with his traditional sound infused with modern rhythms, said Zunza Mukwende captures the spirit of resilience, unity, and self-awareness.

His trademark style, affectionately known as Dzinga reGorekore, continues to honour indigenous sounds and languages while blending contemporary influences to appeal to both young and mature audiences.

“The album is a reflection of who we are as Africans — our rhythm, our struggles, and our joy. Zunza Mukwende is a call for people to dance to their roots, to remember where they come from,” Jah Lemmy said ahead of the launch.

The executive launch will feature an exciting lineup of supporting acts, including Amadhuve Sasha, Rudzi the First Band, Professor Muzvinafundo, and Chimunigeria, who are expected to deliver electrifying performances in celebration of traditional music.

Known for his commanding stage presence and authenticity, Jah Lemmy has built a loyal following both locally and abroad, thanks to his ability to blend storytelling, spirituality, and dance in his performances.

His previous albums have earned him acclaim for keeping alive the legacy of Zimbabwean traditional sounds in a modern musical landscape dominated by Afrobeats and Zimdancehall.
